As with illustrations, the sky is the limit in animation. We have created a wide range of work for our clients: from impactful TV commercials to easy to understand installation animations and delightful Christmas greetings. Our expertise includes both illustrative and more realistic styles. We're also able to animate various types of characters (3D and 2D).

Advent calendar

We took on a Christmas challenge where the goal was to post an animation related to the date every day of the month.

We had to come up with some guidelines for the challenge, which were as follows: the animations had to be square in shape and consist of a loop lasting about 5 to 10 seconds. Its main element had to be the day of the week or a shape resembling it. We also created a Christmas-themed colour palette, which we generally followed in all our pieces.

The purpose of this project was to experiment with new animation and illustration techniques, explore different visual styles, and, in the process, learn as much as possible. The challenge was that we didn’t have much time due to other client projects, so we had to come up with ideas something very quickly. This meant accepting imperfection, which required letting go of the urge to endlessly polish the work.

Starting point

At the end of the main corridor of Itis shopping centre, there is a gigantic mesh screen that conforms to the shape of the ceiling, displaying advertisements among other things. Itis's marketing department was looking for a creator who could produce eye-catching animations for this exceptional canvas.

Solution

We designed several seasonal animations that utilised the screen in an engaging way. For example, we created an Easter animation where a giant bunny peeks from the edges of the screen and eventually comes to greet viewers. For Halloween, we produced an impressive ghost train animation that takes viewers on a wild ride.

In all of our animations, we sought to take advantage of this unique platform’s features, such as its size and curved shape. This allowed us to create more than just animated content – media experiences that come to life and take Itis’s customers on a magical journey.

A shopping centre lobby, at the end of which is a large illuminated Halloween pumpkin surrounded by floating eyes and bat figures.

Halloween

This is a video compilation and some screenshots from the Halloween animation. The 3D animation consists of a circular route along which the carriages travel. During the ride, viewers see, among other things, a spiderweb and flying eyeballs, after which they are swallowed through the mouth of a giant pumpkin into an underpass tunnel and eventually return to the start after a short outdoor ride.

A large, illuminated pumpkin lantern with an open mouth and teeth, surrounded by flying blue and black bats and detached eyes.
Numerous floating candles illuminating a stone-built vaulted ceiling.
A smiling cartoon black ghost and a bright full moon at night above a castle wall.

Easter

We designed two Easter animations for Itis. In one, chocolate eggs rain down from the sky before the Itis logo pushes them aside. In the other, a giant bunny comes out and greets the viewers.

"Working with Julien has been exceptionally smooth and effortless. We have been extremely satisfied with the quality and creativity of the work. The content produced for Itis’s mesh screen has attracted a great deal of attention and received a lot of praise."

Starting point

Founded in 1971, the Kera Group and its subsidiaries manufacture construction supplies, including skylights, glazing solutions and smoke control ducts. When launching products, clear and easy-to-understand installation animations are needed for both consumers and installation professionals.

Solution

Riesen Design regularly designs new videos for Kera Group, which clearly demonstrate, using 3D animation, how different products work and how they should be installed. Being able to utilise CAD models received from the client makes this collaboration seamless: we re-texture the modesl according to the client's wishes, design the lighting, and finally animate all the components together.

Thanks to 3D animation, we can remove all unnecessary background elements from the image and focus on what matters. Best of all, we can easily customise the colours and materials of the products with a single click. This allows us to create different versions of the videos in a cost-effective manner.

On the wall is a white electrical cabinet with a yellow warning triangle and two orange electrical wires.

"Working with Riesen Design has been smooth and hassle-free. We have created a variety of installation animations that can replace traditional multilingual installation manuals. The 3D drawings produced by our design team have made the animation process fast and cost-effective."
